We arrived in Belize on Monday afternoon!  Praise to the Lord for swift travel and no issues. After gathering the rental van and meeting up with our friend Chepito from the Word at Work, we settled into our lodging. We are staying at a new location this year. We are one of the first groups to be able to stay at the Eco Village. The Word at Work has just acquired this property and will be able to host teams. There is much to be done, but it will be great.

Here is a picture of Kathi, Caroline and Lydia's room...the girls had just made up their beds!

We do not have a strong Wi-FI connection at our lodging, so I will try to add to the blog each day we are at YES.

On Tuesday morning, we arrived to YES. After a wonderful breakfast, we started meeting the girls.  Our first activity was to prepare our signs for the Facebook post.  We are performing an experiment to see how far our post will travel in 2 1/2 days.  Here we are creating the sign:

Next, the team assembled for some worship and lessons. Today we discussed "What does it mean to be created in the image of God?" The lesson focused how God created the world and stated that it was "good" and then created Man in His image and stated that it was "VERY good".  Each person is special to the Lord!

While the rest of the team was learning about being created in God's image and making some jewelry, Suzie, Jonathan and Lydia traveled into town to do some food shopping at the Market. We picked up our friend Yolanda who is preparing our dinner on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. We made it to her house and to all of the various shops to pick up the remaining items for Wednesday and Friday's meals. We traveled into Belize City and back with no issues and without making even one wrong turn! Quite an accomplishment in town :-)

After lunch, the team worked to apply primer paint to the back half of the building (the new siding we put up last year).  We do not need to apply primer on the front half which was painted previously (March of 2011). Instead in the morning, we dusted and scrapped as needed. Praise the Lord that there was little scraping required!!

Here are some pictures of the team placing the primer:

Since there was not a lot of scraping required, we have made great progress today!  This evening we have plans to eat out at Old Belize (a restaurant) and have a wonderful group debrief session.
