Belize prayer update 6

Received last night at 10:35 PM from the Belize Team…

 

"We had an amazing first day on the worksite! The group split into two groups. The first group headed to one of our construction sites (we are doing construction at both of the YES campuses this week). The main YES campus is in Lord's Bank (just outside Belize City), and that is where the school is located. The other YES campus is in downtown Belize City. That's where the construction crew went today. They had 7 windows to take out, and 7 new windows to put back in.  All the windows were put in, and tomorrow they will need to be caulked.

"The second group made the drive up to Corazal to visit with Moises and his family, check in on them, and deliver a few surprises. On the way, he stopped by Orange Walk to see our friends Mike and Yodi.  Mike and Yodi are the Word at Work connections to the church in Orange Walk, Luz del Evangelio.  4 years ago, the church started building a new building, but for various reasons the project has been on hold. Just within the past year has the project started again.   Tina, who has an eye for that kind of project, both downloaded the video with the future design projection and was able to talk with the builders. It was exciting to be able to talk to them as they move forward in creating this new worship space (much larger than their old) and to know how to pray for them in the coming months.

"That group continued up to Corazal, saw Moises and all of his siblings except one. Since FPCA is also scholarships some of the kids to go to school, we met his principal and got a better feel for how the school is they are attending.

"Tomorrow, school is back in session, so we start teaching at YES. The day will start with a time of devotional, prayer, and worship first thing in the morning.  The construction will continue at the Belize City YES location and construction will also start at the YES campus in Lord's Bank.

Please pray for the relationships we will start to build with the students, and for continued productivity on the work site.  Pray also for Moises and his family."

 

Praise God for…

·         … the team's "amazing first day on the worksite"

·         … protection over all in their first day of work and getting around from place to place

 

Pray for…

·         … relationship-building between students and team members

·         … productivity on the work site

·         … Moises and his family

·         … team member's minds and our hearts to be open to God's Spirit

·         … team member's  to be living examples of God's love and strength to the people of Belize and the students of YES

·         … for God to be glorified through team member's thoughts, words, actions and reactions as they SEEK HIM on this trip

·         Pray that God would use the team members' efforts to bless the students and staff of YES, as well as all others they meet

 

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,

according to his power that is at work within us,

to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."
